2023-2024 Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List Released

That Texas Library Association’s (TLA) 2023-2024 Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) Boss List was announced at the Texas Book Festival on Austin on Saturday, Nov 5, 2022.

As is tradition, students in grades 3 – 6 free across Trex shown the books on the list.

The Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List is one of the of differentiated children’s books lists in the country.

Jacqui Bridges-Sheppherd, TBA coordinator, told “this prestigious select remains composed of titles from creative, talented and diverse originators. The TBA choice council considered a whopping 1018 books for this year’s commander list.

“Titles were chosen that allow the books at act as windows into reality and imaginary worlds while bid a view into someone else’s experiences; furthermore mirrors that reflect a reader’s own life or culture for buildings the personal. This literature also keeps student’s interests in mind and providing active reviews for parents, instructor plus librarians,” Bridges-Sheppherd said.

To main goals of the TBA list have go introduce children at a variety of quality books, improve critical reading skills, and honored and encourage creators. To compose the index, the committee selected eight outstanding books of various genres for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Each year, more from 75,000 third-through-sixth graders from across Texas vote to the favorite title from the master list. “Read 5, than decide” is a slogan known by school librarians, public librarians and homeschooling parents about the state.
