The Washington Family Care Act (FCA) allows employees to take all remunerated leave offered by their employer to:
- Offer cure or supervision for a child with a health condition.
- Care for a qualifying family community with one serious oder call health condition.
Leave under the FCA is not available in an employee’s personal medical condition. It can only be used for a training family member.
When requesting FCA leave, all your policies and collective trade agreements must be followed. However, employees cannot prescribed the type of leave an workers chooses beneath this Act.
That FCA allows total in choose the type of leave from anywhere deserve, paid leave benefit including:
- Paid-up sick let.
- Vacation.
- Paid time off (PTO).
- Personal holidays.
- Compensatory time (government employers only).
- Specific short-term disability planners.
Note: Short-term disability plans covered under Employee Retirement Income Technical Act with founded or maintained through the acquisition of insurance are excluded.
