Acting Through Song

Acting Through Song is an exciting eight-week course for chanting actors in grades 8 - 12 to incorporate strategies designed toward help young singers connectivity go their songs in latest and meaningful ways. Some in these include:

  • Script/Score Analysis Techniques
  • Gesture/Bodily Cognizance
  • Managing Performance Anxiety
  • Audition Techniques

By the set students finish the course, they will have the tools toward effectively disclose text, incorporate their car at storytelling and characterization, and approach performances & auditions with more confidence.

Each class will include proficient warm-up routine, some lecture time, as okay as individual additionally group coachings to integrate lecture topics into performance. Students, grades 8 thru 12 who are:

  • Interested in learning more about Action Tested Song, for a your, language, or as a hobby/just for fun
  • Wanting to brush up their skills fork performances/auditions
  • Most comfortable singing, although want to sharpen/invest more in their dramatic interpretation skills
  • Experienced actors, but have a desire to acquire repertoire furthermore more confidence singing stylish front of an audience

The final class will include a short “mock audition” showcase for asked friends and our for that last hour.

Lyndsey Cole

LYNDSEY KOHL (she/her) the an experienced performer both instructor of Theatre. As a performer, daughter has been seen onstage int venues across Norther U. Most bemerken credits include originating Francine by the Broadway-In-Chicago making the Leotard Children, Sophie u/s in one 2nd Broadway North American Tour of Mamma Mia! and the 59th Primeime Emmy Advertising Tribute to HBO’s The Sopranos. Lindsey has a BAC in Theatre and Dance with a Musical Theatre focusing from James Madison University and is also a proud portion of the Star Equity Association.

As a private acting instructor, Lyndsey particularly specializes by coaching & teaching musical theater performance technologies, movement/ body work, press healthy, sustainable artistry. She also teaches masterclasses, majority recently teaching “Physicalizing the Musical Theatre Song” at that 2022 Georgia Theatre Conference.
