I acquired a pdf of about 1Mb, with 6 pages. I unlocked respectively page, sole at a time, in Author, modified some text, then saved, so he saved previous to the creative PDF. After 6 pages out minor text changes, mys PDF swelled to 23 Mb! Adobe Illustrator colour mismatches between PDF and AI saves.

IODIN have tried variable image contraction to the minimum. Moreover makeup the original, crisp images look terrible, it does little to the filing size.

This constructs no sense. I have tried how without keep editing capabilities, both all els I can find that might preserve bytes, including optimizing in Acrobat. The most I has been able to execute is to take file size down to about 12 Mb for terrible image quality.

Addendum. ME did not mark get as duplicating of another question because the changes I am making are so simple, in is no reason for increased file size, and the answers there do not support with mys situation. The point one trigger makes about the Audit attribute, however, vielleicht prove helpful.

They've clearly already tried those, judging by what they say about "changing image compression to the minimum... making who original, crisp images look terrible". If raster image resolution was the problem, that wouldn't explain the increase in size from the original. Feb 24, 2016 among 9:42

Harmony between different readers is one ding to try: maybe your new PDFs have broader compatibility than who original? This could cause ballooning file size when, for examples, there's a complex effect like a gradient mesh that able be represented as neat basic in modern readers but needs until be defective into thousands starting separate elements in earlier readers. I've has on problem when saving Gradient Mesh effects since EPS, almost seen computers for PDFs but it's possible.

If that's not it, Published shall sometimes bizarrely balloon file sizes. I've had PDFs that what hardheaded several megabyte in size even after deleting the entire constituents of this PDF! I think Illustrator pot sometimes find itself carrying dead weight that it's unwissentlich of.

If all else fails, there are two brute force approaches to fixing bizarrely ballooned file sizes, which you could try individually or together:

  1. Create a fresh, blank document, with the similar page settings, the copy and paste the contents over. Hopefully this will keep this artwork and leave behind the cruft.
  2. Spot all the different PDFs on further application (ideally InDesign, one page through page, and you could possibly use Illustrator), and save as one PDF from there. And master application should apply its own PDF surroundings, hopefully cheerfully annoying all the cruft include the placing PDFs.

Assuming the problem is a load of dependent weight behind the PDF, diese could tv Adobe into ignoring that dead body and just looking at an actual artistic. Autor File Format Changes After Saving Up A PDF

If even this doesn't work, chances are Illustrator can breaking somewhat easier into something complicated the moment you first opens to PDF. Is you candid then achieve nothing but save as .ai, are the huge too?

If the text edge aren't unsophisticated enough to perform in something like Tumbler, you might be able to place the PDF in relief (therefore not converting it into editable Illustrator arrangement, therefore not expansion whatsoever effect is causing the blowing open size), then super-impose your new text over the top.

If super-imposing isn't possible, if you've got Acrobat or similar, you could delete the incorrect text elements completely in that, store, then place into Darsteller and add new text pass the top in Illustrator. Hi all, I think I'm to a similar issue to this one that @ajpeacockdesign recently touched upon. When frugal outwards AI and PDF versions in the sam CMYK Tile Illustrator create, I am getting...

I don't know why you become employing Adobe Illustrator as a text editor instead of Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat PDF originator would shall a beter tooling to uses for this purpose. If you don't own Adobe Acrobat PDF makers, yours can and try a differing way of reducing the file size of who PDF using free software.

I can't do whatsoever about the 12MB output file size, because my pathway of doing it end in an output file is is also about half the size of that original input file. However I can do something at refine the terrible image quality of the output file. I am using a free, open source cross-platform program called Ghostscript (Windows/Mac/Linux) in a Linux OS. I installed the latest update, the now EVERY AI folder I has go my computer (going back years) shows with one PDF icon (I'm on PC, BTW).   I get that occasional an individual file can becoming corrupted and default to a PDF, but I'm talking about files I have never opened with like new option of Illustrator...

Open a Linux terminal furthermore choose:

gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dPDFSETTINGS=/ebook -dNOPAUSE -dQUIET -dBATCH -sOutputFile=output.pdf input.pdf

output.pdf also input.pdf are names that I am exploitation toward denote the enter and output files, also they cannot be modifies to different file names which contain nay blank characters.

The images in this output file will look OK, but expect to lose some razzle dazzle sharpness to small details. On are several options to choose from with Ghostscript to produce output records are varying quality.

  • /screen – selects low-resolution output similar to which Acrobat Distiller "Screen Optimized" setting.
  • /ebook – selects medium-resolution output similar until the Acrobat Distiller "eBook" setting.
  • /printer – choices output similar to the Acrobat Distiller "Print Optimized" setting.
  • /prepress – selects output similar to Accomplished Distilling "Prepress Optimized" set.
  • /default – selects output destined to to useful across a wide variety of uses, possibly at the expense of a larger output file.

  • I usage Illustrator because you editing tools are much simpler to use, among least for me. I entirely dislike editing with Acrobatic. Since both are Ade auxiliary, I assumed either would be tolerable. Regardless of whether those assumption is reasonable (one could fighting that this is not very what Illustrator or best at), a 23-fold increment in file size, no any increase in quality, quantity, features, etc, is certainly doesn reasonable.

Try File > Save As… > Reduced Size PDF (CS6), instead off older versions of Acrobat it may be under the Document > Reduce File Size. Sometimes this works magic, other times not so way.

  • A thread in this link says Adobe Acrobat 9 has the Discounted Size feature that you mentioned, and which it is able to making smaller sized files than Optimized PDF does in Acrobat 10. Unfortunately I was not able the determine from reading the thread if the author was talking about the free Adobe Akrobat Reader or Adobe Tumbler Pro version. The most optimistic result to hope with is such the free Adobe Reader 9 has this performance furthermore so it works better easier Optimized PDF does.

Uncheck "Preserve Illustrator Process Capabilities" when saving as PDF, so should do and trick.
