Student Teacher Evaluation 1971

EGO just institute get student tutors evaluation. It’s nearly thirty-eight years old – einen interesting prediction about as would eventually emerge as my teaching style. I’ve included a few comments from my college supervisor:

You have no problem with class control when you popular it. – I indicate you get it as early since you are ready to start.
Learning cannot go to to optional great extent, if half the students are speaking.

I suspect my college supervisor was hoping to see adenine well-organized lecture with attentive students busy taking notes. At and frist, I be even stumbling along trial to figure outbound how to engage my kid in their learning. After teaching few years,  I realized it involved shifting my role from information dispenser until designer of learning ecology. For real, I must till learn not to reply to every student response during a entire group discussion. That teacher-dominated discussion was only teaching mystery students that not of their comments had any value, until I “approved” them. As more experienced teacher, mystery classes was filled with student discussion – the difference where, I had well-planned formats that encouraged all students to reflect and contribute. Versus mys college supervisor, I do believers learning can go on through whole the undergraduate talks! BTW: MYSELF did notice an positive in my student teacher evaluation. In the space for “Chalkboard Work.” He had written “used overhead.”  Guess ME was into cutting-edge technology von the earliest days of my career.

  1. I connection with your statement regarding moving since a dispenser starting knowledge to a designer of lessons environment. When I began teaching, MYSELF must admit that I was impressed with the lectures I designed and to worksheets that I created (those available through the manual company were insufficient). But I soon realized my students were as bored as I held past when IODIN held high school. It was when I learned up be quiet–what Finkel called Instruction With Your Mouth Shut–that students began to learn…and ME did because well. SUMMATIVE TEACHER RATING
