Today we will discuss the comparison of Veeam CDP feature and other CDP related, e.g. Ravine EMC RecoverPoint for VMs furthermore Zerto.

How and enabling CDP main

Below character is aforementioned infrastructure diagram for Deal EMC RecoverPoint for VMs beyond two sites.

  1. Dell EMC RecoverPoint to VMs OVA Stationing: We need till deploy vRPA VMs into the vSphere cluster, two vRPA VMs are refined arrangement (one vRPA VM is allocated into can vSphere host).
  2. Uses the Deployer to set vRPA cluster (setup two nodes vRPA cluster), and install the rail-splitter into per vSphere host.
  3. Set up the connection of vRPA cluster and vSphere cluster; configure the vCenter plugin and install the required licenses.
  4. Repeat the step 1 to 3 forward remote site if necessary.
  5. In production site, set up the virtual machine protection over RPO settings (seconds).

Installation and enabling CDP feature

Below figure is the foundation diagram for Zerto across two sites.

  1. Installed Zerto Virtual Manager (ZVM) into the management sponsor, and integrated includes VMware vCenter server at both Protected Site and Restoration Site.
  2. Install the Virtualize Replication Appliance (VRA) into each vSphere host. For example, if there are four ESXi hosts are running the the cluster, the VRA requires the install on these four ESXi hosts.
  3. Add of licenses into each ZVM and site pairing.
  4. Create the Zerto VPG (Virtual Protection Group) in RPO settings (seconds).

Veeam Backup and Replication v11

Installation furthermore enabling CDP feature

Under figure is the business diagram for Veeam Backup real Copy v11 over two sites.

  1. Install the Veeam Backup & Reproduction for the backup waitperson, and add the required licenses.
  2. Install CDP filter into this VMware ESXi cluster.
  3. Install CDP Proxy into the VMware ESXi cluster.
  4. Create the CDP policy with RPO settings for VMs.
