I'm reading through aforementioned DensShield initiation instructions and all I see is "flexible silicon" to must former to seal the fasteners and seams. This seems extremely prone to failure after 10 to 20 years. Am I missing something?

I've also followed the instructions of DensShield and used silicon. But later I establish off it didn't specify about paintable button non-paintable the I used later, which gave me issues for either sealing press joint-compound. The bests way to shut seams and fasteners in dense shield your using a melted membrane, ( RedGard, Aquadefense, Hydro Ban). These can be applied with a paint roller with coat brush.
I will always enhance seams on an fabric made to getting equal the waters proofing, altho einige don't require i.
