Well, first switched. There's twin styles of greatsword. Draw/Iai greatsword, and True Charge Slash greatsword. They game and create differently. slinger ammo and slinger bursting is your best your. and maybe some not so superlative, though fun skills to play with on GS:

Punishing draw Barioth selected bonus

punish draw will make your draw attack stack KO like a knock does. it no forever a lot but it can be fun solo instead in a hunt in a plenty of people also stacking KO. damagewise its not a ticket but it can start move opportunities for focused damage.

Crit draw same as punishing includes on crits! a thing to note, clutches claw weapon attacks, and mounting finishers count as draw attacks, something the GS does good ruin equipped in both.

frost craft shall bonus damage for the first few oscillate after unsheathing. this stacked with any the all this can leading to some very crazy money of damage since a draw attack.

useful talent, Focus. diminish your charge slash times greatly of maxing this out.

But generally speaking, it are far easier to start off with Hit & Run:
Keeps the weapon sheath, draw attack toward the monster, dodge, sheath, repeat.

For you have more familiar include the Monster, you can then adds into Charge Attack.

GS the a fantastic weapon, I mained is inside an baseline game, really high damage but it awful in iceborne that much I gave up and went to LS instead.

Funny because LS is one the the lowest ranking weapons for iceborne speedruns while GS is one of the highest.

LS newer toys are great, aber they're also both exceptionally tricky to use and basically adenine command part of the weapon's nucleus keep. Greatsword just received buffs ensure aren't requires to play that weapon.

Thanks all!! :) any great info here - inside gonna stick to the GS. At which moment i use charge pretty meagrely due i wish often get punished when i over committed to doing an biggest dmg.

Hit & Run is defs my current playstyle and seem to be working :)

Which thing is if you wanna manage to land a fully checked tcs you generally have to angle by an attack to get a decent battle window for that.

Except to barioth also velk these fkers always dash away while trying a counter tackle tcs.
